WHEN: Day 9, evening into night

[the sun goes down; the two moons rise.

it all looks...quite different. the laundromat lengthens and transforms the silhouette of Woolietown in the distance. the lighthouse beacon comes to life for the first time, throwing strong, brilliant light and stark shadows across the meadow and into the barns. the lazy river encircles the pasture in a glittering band, the bobbing shapes of the pool toys a little bit eerie until they drift into full view.

perhaps some of you are winding down. perhaps some of you are just gearing up for a wild adventure in the shadows. perhaps some of you, regardless of if you sleep or stay up, find your dreams and nightmares crawling out beyond the bounds of your own head tonight, drawing others in...

the night is full of possibilities.]

[Oh shit they flyin.

Or, well, 'flying' isn't quite right. Muffin will feel like he is practically weightless for most of the leap, up until they get close to the top of the lighthouse. The pull of gravity strengthens slightly to put them down gently, and then gravity returns to normal and they both stop glowing.]

[Muffin whistles excitedly and this time he does applaud when they land. they're way too high up now for his cheering to bother anyone!]

Extra amazing! Wasn't flying, was floating!

[he points straight up at the weird two-moon night sky.]

Flying has more flapping.

[It's just a night sky, but the stars probably light up more since these two are above the giant light source in the pasture.]

Pretty, huh?

[blinks, then twitters as his eyes adjust to the darkness]

It is! You were right, this is somewhere better.

[Odin smiles, and then he turns his gaze back up to the sky.]

It's kinda hard to get up here, but the view is worth it.

Is one nice thing about the countryside. Lots of stars.

Yeah? It's like this in the countryside?

[He's a city boy.]

Yeah! The further away from everything you are, the more stars you see.

I've never been to the country before, I didn't know there were so many stars in the sky.

Seen any shooting stars yet?

Shooting stars are real?

[This is probably the first time since he got here that he's actually looked and acted his age.]

Yes! And more common than might think. Should be able to see a few tonight.

Well shit, let's sit up here and watch for 'em. You'll have to point it out though, so I know what it looks like.

You'll know it when you see it. Look for a star moving fast!

[He's thinking...thinking...]

The only 'fast stars' I've ever seen were like, airplane lights.

Faster than that!

[he doesn't know what an airplane is, just that stars are Fast]

Well okay, let's watch.

[He turns his attention to the sky, looking for anything moving fast.]

[muffin flops down onto the lighthouse roof, laying on his back to watch the stars]

They're easier to see away from the moon. Moons.

Yeah, it is kinda freaky to see two moons like that huh?

[He pauses for a long time, but eventually he adds a bit more.]

The full moon is the first thing I ever remember seeing.

Was it pretty?

Yeah. I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like the sky that night.

Full moons are bad luck where I'm from. Yours sounds nicer.

It's not that nice. There's so much light in the city that we can't see nearly as many stars, just the moon on most nights.
