[the sun goes down; the two moons rise.

it all looks...quite different. the laundromat lengthens and transforms the silhouette of Woolietown in the distance. the lighthouse beacon comes to life for the first time, throwing strong, brilliant light and stark shadows across the meadow and into the barns. the lazy river encircles the pasture in a glittering band, the bobbing shapes of the pool toys a little bit eerie until they drift into full view.

perhaps some of you are winding down. perhaps some of you are just gearing up for a wild adventure in the shadows. perhaps some of you, regardless of if you sleep or stay up, find your dreams and nightmares crawling out beyond the bounds of your own head tonight, drawing others in...

the night is full of possibilities.]

[the glass shatters, and another alarm sounds, louder than before. it's almost deafening as it echoes throughout the entire display room]

[Charon's constable outfit burns away with blue fire (that isn't hot), and is replaced by a striped outfit and swashbuckling mask similar to Lupin's]

[also: there are several fancy, shiny jewels in the display case he just broke, now ripe for the taking!!]

[this is...so silly it is a little bit charming. he kind of wants to laugh, honestly, though he keeps a lid on it for now.

scoops the jewels and peers out the window for whatever route Lupin took]

[there doesn't seem to be any obvious route to the window, no! there are a few display cases nearby, but they all seem too short to reach the window properly. . . at least, not without some kind of tool-- or some impressive display of athleticism. how did Lupin even get up there?? ]

[but Charon better think quickly, because suddenly a HUGE HORDE of constables pour through the door, falling over each other with their plastic batons waving menacingly at him]

if sheep powers and sheep power logic work in this dream he actually will just illusion a copy of himself going out the window while making his actual self look like part of the wall as he stands to the side, thank you

if they don't he'll try something else but he isn't just going to jump for real as his first resort. he is not nearly as athletic as a Persona protagonist.]

[IT'S A DREAM, ANYTHING GOES! which is to say, the illusion trick works, and the entire band of stupidly dressed cops piles up at the window in an attempt to followCharon outside. that leaves the front entrance perfectly unguarded]

[YEAH DUDE HE IS SIDLING OUT to find somewhere safer to be with his ill-gotten gains, silent as the grave. this is his favorite sheep power of all of Lily's]

[out the door he goes! it leads him to a dark hallway that has various paintings hanging on the walls. they're some very strange paintings, though. . . a king wearing nothing but a cape and some underwear; a well-dressed elderly man with a large topknot; a half-man, half-fly sneering as Charon passes; a woman sphinx; a man in a space suit; a woman in a scantily-clad dress; a prideful man with a spiky helmet; and. . . a completely average-looking doctor]

[what kind of tastes does this artist have???]

[anyway, the lights seem to get dimmer the further down the hallway he goes. continue??]

[he's not sure what he thinks about this art, but he's actually more intrigued by the prospect of finding Lupin than getting sidetracked by it for long...

he does brush the painted edge of the scantily-clad woman's dress with his fingertips to see if something happens, though, before he moves on. he couldn't care less about her figure or clothing, but her eyes remind him a little of the demon he knows.]
