WHEN: 109 afternoon thru evening

[It happened so suddenly--no matter where you were, even if you didn't get caught up in, you suddenly saw the massive, ghostly body of Death standing over the pasture. Whether you were in your barn, the cafeteria, exploring the meadow or forest, it didn't matter. You suddenly found yourself sucked into seemingly another realm, experiencing memories and feelings and urges that certainly did not belong to you. A ritual is being performed, but it was not caused by Weed or Sheep or Blossom. Not, Death herself called this one, in an effort to call attention to. . .something, who knows.

As you eventually wake up from the ritual--possibly with injuries or horrific memories, you will find yourself at the fountain.

Blossom, Stormy, and Lady are also there, soundly asleep. And also tied up. Death is tired of their shit okay.]

[he knows Charon is incapable of doing that; he feels a sharp sting of guilt for even letting the words leave his mouth. only the cloying, choking sense of panic in the pit of his stomach has him asking at all.]

[THAT. WORKS. he looks like he might protest that it's unnecessary at first, but sitting down eases the number of things he has to pay attention to.

Lethe cannot get out of his own head for long enough to make the feathers completely stop. though Charon can't feel his emotions or know precisely what he's thinking, it's clear that he's stuck himself in a loop of calming down and panicking: every few minutes he sprouts a few feathers again, only to pull them back in a moment later.]

How the hell does he handle these things...

Hmm.

[perhaps feeling Charon’s analytical ticking at the back of his head helps a little? the nice thing about that is it makes anything Charon is looking at feel like a surmountable problem, if one can only find the right levers and the right amount of brainpower to apply.]

Don’t fight them. It’s harder to keep them under your skin than not, correct? Just let them out for a few minutes.

[the silence stretches on--not uncomfortable, but quiet as Lethe gets his thoughts in order. it doesn't happen quickly, but they have nothing better to do.

just as his legs start to ache from being in the same position for so long he leans up to kiss Charon on the cheek and straightens. composed as he'll ever be.]

[there is a kind of soft horror in that, something that should probably be screaming horror but hasn’t processed through the shellshocks of the day fully yet]
