[it's okay Lupin remembers Loki is allergic to emotions]
[and it took him ALL THE WAY UP UNTIL THE ONSEN, but Lupin finally lifts a hand, trailing his fingers underneath Loki's chin, tilting his head down a bit so he can steal a scandalous smooch]
[Lupin does keep the kiss short, if only because he is acutely aware that their bath is technically a public area and he doesn't want anyone on Thistle to walk in on them. but even when he draws back, he doesn't go far]
We have a few new members. Acheron is a transplant from Lily, and Bombay a transplant from Weeds. If you remember Okami. . . Bombay is Okami, only he doesn't remember.
They're both adults, and for a while there, the number of adults on Thistle totally beat out the number of teenagers.
[makes a face, but it's playful]
We had another member for a while. Her name was Flora, but. . . I think she's gone home.
Yata also went home for a while, but he returned recently. Just a few days before you.
Otherwise, Odin, Tyr and I are still around. [a lopsided grin] And we found our flock's priest.
[you'll come to care about the new Thistles too and like it!!]
What can I say? It's my MO.
[priests were only just becoming a thing when they left so it's fine]
So every team has a priest, right? I guess the priests act as a middleman between flocks and demons. If a priest summons a demon, then the demon can be controlled. If a flock summons one, then we might accidentally trigger a ritual. As you've seen.
I don't think Thistle really cared to work with someone we didn't know, so we just recruited Red as our Priest. He gave us discounts at his shop.
[settling into the water a little more, eyes slipping shut]
One more bit of good news first.
. . . when we asked Red to be our priest, he sent us on a quest to the Golden Demon's ruined cave. There, the demon was revived, and we had to fight them a third time.
But they're gone for good now, because we turned them into a mask.
[lifting a hand to trace his cheeks, indicating his Joker mask]

You're negging in full force today. You really must have missed me.

[. . . settling against Loki's shoulder]
But— yeah.
I missed you a lot.

I'm... glad to be back.

. . . how's Melody doing?
no subject
[spoken with a tone of apathy, but there's a hint of a compliment in there somewhere]
no subject
That's my Melody.
. . . maybe she'll be back soon, too.

no subject
. . . I know Melody can take care of herself, so. . .
[HE WILL. . . TRY NOT TO WORRY]

[why are we still talking about Melody]
no subject
I know.
[breathes out deeply]
. . . anyway. Do you want me to catch you up on what has happened now?

[to make a long story short--]
We have a few new members. Acheron is a transplant from Lily, and Bombay a transplant from Weeds. If you remember Okami. . . Bombay is Okami, only he doesn't remember.

[there isn't any real bite to that statement, though. it's clear the thing he really cares about is that last part]
At any rate, I'm glad to hear the others are still around. I'm looking forward to seeing them again.
...So, what's this about a priest?
[was that a thing while he was here? I do not remember and therefore neither does he]

What can I say? It's my MO.

[no bite there, either]

We also gave him a new name. He’s Tamamo now, or Tammy, or Tam-chan.
no subject
...On that subject, how is my room?
no subject
Not officially, but he comes and goes as he pleases. As Tam-chan does.
And. . . [a pause, and he frowns]
Everything in your room was gone when I got back. But my stuff returned with me, so surely yours did, too.

no subject
Well.
I've only been giving you the good news so far.
