Also more notably!! Some thorny, shadow like flowers start rising from the grass, with petals that more so resemble feathers. Should you smell, touch, or step on one, you may experience the following:

-Nothing! You go about your day!
-Nothing! PSYCHE when you go to sleep, enjoy some vivid nightmares, some of which others may get sucked into.
-Transformation! You'll be turned into a mouse/rat--like, an actual fucking tiny rodent. Think the persona 4 status effect, or a small bird of the corvid variety. You'll remain as such until you smell your own flower, and you will poof back.

So yeah, watch your step and have good dreams tonight!! Or just go about your day--quests, personal shit, memories, whatevs I'm not your mom.

[ Look. As long as Cygnus isn't coming out in pieces this is only a good thing for her to see.

He'll even be nice and use the spell he practiced so he doesn't feel much of a sting while he bites- which he'll actually be very gentle about, taking Cygnus' arm and feeling out a vein with his fingers. Cygnus is free to note he does it in the way someone familiar with the process would do it. ]

[glancing away because none of this is sterile or hygienic, focusing on a middle distance. if belle isn't focusing on the amount of time passing, definitely more than usually necessary, the biggest tells that something is off is cygnus loosening is grip on lyra's hand and also his pulse slowing down]

[she starts panicking at like, the first sign of anything being off. she's the one to worry about freaking out, her grip on her brother tightening but not tugging him away either just because she doesn't want to hurt either of them.]

[ This whole world isn't sterile or hygienic, but they don't particularly have a choice.

However, he has come prepared for this especially with the twins recent trauma, and he isn't taking that much blood anyway- hence the pain timer. It'll be four-five sips at most-

As well as Belle immediately using the ability to manipulate emotions to bring Cygnus into a state of neutrality- it's a subtle shift, meant to have him go into an "I'm okay, this is fine" state rather than fully relaxed. He can confess to it if he has to be more extreme about it, but for now, he's not saying anything.

He does pull back, wiping his mouth, and looking at Lyra. ]

Come now, my dear. I didn't take that much. He's fine, see?

[squeezing lyra's hand with a slight shake of his head]

Yeah, I'm fine. Just not used to my blood.

[and checking the bite now that lyra is taken care of, eww]

Can you get one of the band-aids?

[ He came prepared for that, too! He'll be sanitizing the bite with a wipe and summoning up a band-aid for it. It has little sheep patterned on it. ]

[ Excuse him while he summons up a bottle of water from Rose to wash out his mouth, though. Which he'll do facing away to not be rude. ]

[She bumps her shoulder against Cygnus, anxious, before looking at Belle and nodding, holding her free arm out for Belle. They agreed, they gotta do this, but she loves her brother so... much... okay... and that translates to worry sometimes.]

Yeah. Okay.

I'm sure.

[but going to hug her from behind, burying his face in her shoulder because he isn't going to like seeing this either . . . !!]

[ U guys ever consider therapy. ]

[ But he turns back to Lyra, and is actually a lot gentler with her in comparison. Princely, even! And he'll keep himself positioned in a way that she doesn't get a view of what he's doing, fangs and all.

The only thing she'll feel is the initial sting that will be numbed by his pain-reducing spell, but this time, he'll be enhancing her calm to override any fear or anxiety, and bite.

He'll also do the same with her after, wiping the area and covering it with a band-aid (this one has rose patterns on it!) and stand upright to wash out his mouth again before dabbing his mouth with a handkerchief. ]
