Anyway, we freed the Weed, but they had some kind of time-rewinding power. The destroyed cave started to rebuild itself, which included the broken statues.

As much as I wanted to beat the shit out of him a third time, we weren't there for the demon. We were there for the statues.

So we grabbed as many of them as we could carry-- including the one that turned out to be Red's body-- and got the hell out of there.

I understand the sentiment behind what you are saying. And I do agree — it's quite dangerous. But even more dangerous would be to have taken him on then and there without any plan in mind.

Mm. That's why we ran instead of sticking around. Plus, some of the statues might've been re-damaged in the scuffle.

Hmm. So, ultimately, it's a net positive for you. Your nemesis is back, of course, but I would imagine, knowing you and your flock, you ultimately care more about being able to save those lives.
