[a bit llllater in the morning after people are more rested, you can find Charon in the war room with the door open, a spread of notes on the table or pinned to one of the walls. the various artifacts they brought home have been laid out carefully on the table as well, including the dead guard's mask and the other dead guard's ID.

[ at pretty much any point in the morning, there'll be stacks of blue pancakes left out for anyone hungry in the kitchen or living room. the shape may leave something to be desired, but the taste is perfectly acceptable. there'll also be sandwiches after a point later in the morning and closer to lunch, nothing fancy but do taste good!

or maybe you actually catch him in the kitchen fussing at these attempts at cooking, early in the day. it's not hard to guess he was doing this instead of sleeping, but also, he did only just wake up after several days' sleep. ftr he's still older from the forever scales, definitely keeps doing double takes at reflective surfaces. ]

[welp eventually this experiment will move to the mist greenhouse, but for now Lily is starting it in the privacy of their barn common area, so:

- Kevin has been handed some blood to attempt to infect himself with a little earlier in the day. this will tragically not work

- both demigods and Charon are tied up in case something goes wrong, and each of them is wearing a mask retrieved from wolf Vegas. possibly they feel a little silly. one of the masks will also not work until it’s exorcised so RIP somebody might go nuts temporarily

- the other Lilies are on standby for wrangling.

- the moons are just about to rise.]
