RITUAL 32 - never have i ever

WHO: you
WHERE: around the pasture
WHEN: morning 86

[so how are we doing, everybody? feeling a little more together? feeling a little furry, floaty, or both? well–don’t mind this newer Weed who’s just climbed up on a big rock, clapping his mildly bloody hands together to get your attention.

is that a new demon hovering around him? well–this might as well happen.]

‘Scuse me! I’m Father Argent, if we haven’t previously met. I know this is a little presumptuous and all, but it seems like most people could use a pick-me-up right now? So my friend over here and I have, well, arranged something. I hope you’ll indulge us today!

[and a little ripple of movement goes through the surrounding area, transforming it – the colours of this part of the pasture go pastel, and everything gets bubbly. rocks are now round and bouncy, the grass loses its edges and looks more like a carpet of fat succulents, fences look and feel kinda like pool noodles. you can bounce around without damaging anything, if you build up enough momentum, but even without doing that it’s just…nice to hang out on, soft and springy. there’s also some random clear spheres hanging here and there in the air, filled with small round crunchy snacks and drinks like popcorn, or pork rind and grain puffs, or gummies, or cold water, or weak beer. not enough to fill up on or really get drunk, but something to munch and keep you refreshed.

y’all are stuck here for a bit! and even if you’re not in immediate range or holed up indoors, you might feel the pull to come see what’s up – or simply be teleported into the ritual zone, in a bright popping flurry of bubbles.]

Heh, if I'm a patron they really ought to be more consistent on offerings. We can say I'm more ally than rival, ritual circumstances notwithstanding. If Clover needs help from a Weed I've helped out before.

Neat. And how do you prefer to be addressed?
jerkalope: (The young boy learns their rules)

You can call me Warden. Did you pick a name out yet, newbie?
failsaver: (hehe | 005)

Warden it is.

Uh, I'm still thinkin' on it.

[ he hasn't been thinking about it at all ]
jerkalope: (What I've felt what I've known)

Alright, in the meantime I'm going to call you Greenie. Because you're fresh meat on Clover so you're green in more ways than one!
failsaver: (smug | 001)

How creative.
jerkalope: (Won't see what might have been)

[personal profile] jerkalope 2024-06-16 05:49 am (UTC)(link)
Isn't it? And a good incentive for you to think on it before it sticks!
failsaver: (zoom out | 001)

Thanks, you're a real one.

What made you pick 'Warden'?
jerkalope: (He tries to please them all)

Back in my world, I supervise a prison for murderers. There was another Weed here for a short time who went by the name of Judge. He suggested I take it and I agreed. After all, it's kind of pointless to argue with such a judgement~

Ah. I'm seeing a theme here.
jerkalope: (He's battled constantly)

Themes must pop up very briefly with Weeds. We have the most turnover after all. Then it's back to being random!

[ for the first time, his eyes light up. ]

How'd they leave? Sure, the records claim randomness, but that's— it's a pseudonym. For ignorance.

Besides, authors can lie. [ slight smile. ] Then again, so could you.
