Also while Bluebells were out, their barn helpfully spawned: a hot tub, fire pit/grill, human-sized cat tree, and couch that doesn't make Crescendo want to burst into tears. ]

[ RINGING THE SERIOUS BUSINESS SHEPHERD BELL ]

So . . . I've got a lot to fill you in on.

First of all -- [ laying this drawing out for everyone to see ] -- a group went into the mists and encountered the Wolf King in person. He and the wolves out there can smell Blossom on us, and they really don't like that . . . part of whatever their ancient feud was, I guess. On top of that, the group that went had two pretty powerful people involved, and they barely made it out in one piece. He's definitely not someone we can easily take head-on, at least not with the limitations of our powers in this place.

Second, what happened today . . . remember the ram demon from the first ritual? Thistle hunted down his lair and stole a golden statue out of it. Apparently shepherds on behalf of "King Stormia" had been offering sacrifices to the ram demon in exchange for clearing the mist out of the pasture, but those sacrifices were . . .

The statue was actually guy who'd been encased in gold. He started screaming and then he turned into a sheep. I dunno.

[ Just lllliike. GESTURES HELPLESSLY FOR A SECOND ]

Anyway . . . stealing that sacrifice might be why the mist is encroaching, or-- uh-- well, Thistle killed the ram demon, so it could be that too. Either way, knowing what's out there, we gotta be extra cautious from now on. There's also a fairly powerful member of Rose out in the mists somewhere, transformed into a wolf beast. Rose still needs to get him back somehow, so that's gonna be a whole thing . . .

What else. Death's eye opened as soon as the mist rolled in and apparently sunflowers are good against mist creatures? Good thinking planting those around the barn, Crescendo. Rubato said the normal animals are pretty agitated now too.

Oh, yeah. Also, Stormy's back.

Also why can Crescendo breathe underwater and since when does he have his very own eel.

No one should be going out into the mist right now. Stormy and Blossom are supposedly going to work on a plan for what to do about the mist encroaching forward.

[ THERES A LOT HERE TO DISLIKE ]

Sheep . . . are people.

[ nods like, yeah that scans, not sure why I didn’t see that coming ]

[ melody is aggressively gardening; she's got tools, pots, home-made manure, and is planting coffee beans, potatoes, more herbs, etc. Also gonna place some sunflowers in the tunnels and around the shared kitchen, and otherwise just kind of tending to the plants ]

That is why we were summoned here. To try to draw out their old selves.

[ Nully’s thinking about their last experience with people who had been altered into stage dressing for bullshit Demi-planes. Didn’t work out great. ]

Do we know we can? Or is that . . . Blossom’s hope?

I don't have an answer for that. But there is no reason not to keep trying.

There's been an improvement in them since day one. Not a lot, but . . . noticeable.

Stormy may be back, but . . . I went looking for Blossom and couldn't find her anywhere.

I also couldn’t find Blossom. [ he was looking for her for reasons. ]

[ YKNOW. THATS FAIR. THATS REALLY QUITE FAIR AND REASONABLE. They raise a hand to touch their collar, confirming it is as unyielding as ever. There is so, so much here to dislike. ]

My . . . experience with those trapped in such states—

[ pauses. shakes their head. maybe we don’t need to skip straight to how much the sheeple might be craving the sweet release of death. That’s a later problem. ]

This world, is it naturally occurring? Did it exist before the current conflict, or . . . does it exist because of the conflict? Does it exist . . . under its own planar structure, or is it sustained . . . from the outside?

This will . . . determine our current aims.

We're trying to find some answers to those questions, but it's difficult when everyone has amnesia or just won't be forthcoming about anything.

. . . I'm hoping a demon here might be able to feed us at least a little info. I thought it was Dokidoki at the time, but it turns out they're different demons.
