WHO: anyone
WHERE: anywhere
WHEN: Day 9, morning through to late afternoon
[well there's still new landmarks to explore, new teammates (and new ragged individuals) to meet. occasional gunfire's been resounding through the woods sometimes, scaring birds up into the air and sending wandering pygmidillos in the meadow askitter.
what are you up to this fine day?]

Any idea where we can get some protein around here?

Probably someone else on Lily might have one.

But askin' Charon's fine.

Do you know how to fish?
no subject
Don't got any water on a desert planet, let alone fish.
no subject
Two fishing poles, then. What do you drink if there's no fresh water on the planet?
no subject
Technology breaks down, ya don't drink anythin'.
Alcohol's cheaper, too.

Humans created a thing called a "plant" that can do that. Not like the plants here--not grass or trees or whatever.
Thing is that humans probably didn't understand what they created. In fact, gonna say they definitely didn't, 'cause we can't recreate them. They die out, we die out. That's how it works on that planet.

...Humans bio-engineered a new life form that could produce water in order to sustain life and then forgot how. Do you have "dungeons" on your world? Or monsters?

[we are not talking about Knives because fuck that. fuck him.]
'Bout a century and a half ago.

A century and a half isn't too long ago, all things considered. The information to create more plants would probably be on one of the ships somewhere...but I'm sure everyone already knows that. I hope it works out?
no subject
... dunno if y'know how much damage can happen to a ship crashin' through atmosphere it's not prepared for--I sure as hell don't.
They say someone managed to put the fleet on an emergency course, but who knows. Maybe they all just got lucky to get away with their lives and some plants instead of burnin' up. Most ships and tech too damaged and used for scrap. Some even just became settlements.
But plants die. Populations scatter. Overburden plants of other places... it's been the way of it since.
no subject
...Yeah. When resources are limited, that's how it ends up. You might almost be better off with dungeons, even with the monsters.

So yeah. It happens a lot.
[YOU THINK WE GOT GRASS ON GUNSMOKE??? HA.]
